Guide to Connect Your Email Account from TK WebHosts to Your Domain
To link your TK WebHosts email account to your domain, follow these steps to configure DNS settings and set up your email client. This setup ensures reliable email delivery and security for your domain.
Step 1: Access Your Domain's DNS Settings
- Log into the account where you manage your domain DNS (e.g., TK WebHosts, Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
- Navigate to the DNS settings or Zone Editor for the domain you want to connect to your email account.
Step 2: Add MX (Mail Exchange) Records
To route incoming emails to your email server, set up your MX records. TK WebHosts supports either pixel.mxrouting.net or taylor.mxrouting.net as MX servers.
- Record Type: MX
- Host/Name:
@or leave it blank (this represents your domain name). - Value/Points to: Choose either
pixel.mxrouting.net.ortaylor.mxrouting.net.. - Priority:
10(if required). - TTL: Set this to the default, typically "Auto" or "1 hour."
Important: Remove any existing MX records to avoid conflicts, as your domain should only have one active mail server.
Step 3: Add SPF (Sender Policy Framework) Record
SPF records are essential for email security. They authorize only specific servers to send emails on behalf of your domain, which helps prevent spoofing and improves deliverability.
- Record Type: TXT
- Host/Name:
@(or leave blank if using TK WebHosts DNS). - Value:
"v=spf1 include:mxroute.com -all" - TTL: Default or "Auto"
Note: If you already have an SPF record, update it to include
mxroute.comrather than creating a new one, as domains should only have one SPF record.
Step 4: Verify DNS Settings
After updating your DNS records, it may take some time (up to 24 hours) for changes to propagate across the internet. You can check DNS propagation with tools like MXToolbox or WhatsMyDNS.
Step 5: Set Up Your Email Account in Your Preferred Email Client
Once DNS propagation completes, configure your email client (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, or Gmail) or access it via TK WebHosts' webmail portal.
